This will sound silly but my excitement for this game has cooled rapidly. Reading reviews about how much better the PC version is, and given how much cheaper it is, makes me want the PC version. But the whole reason I was excited about this game was that I prefer to be comfy on my couch playing a game, and this seemed like an ideal console game like KOTOR.

It may still be an awesome console game, but I know what you mean. If all choices were equal, then it would not diminish the console offerings.

Also, nice way to read my statement, maz!

I checked out the char creator, intro and 2 of the 6 possible start stories - at least the first conversation. It looks like there is a heap of choice. it seems well voiced, and the story looks like it could be deep.

I am very disappointed in the graphics though. Like NWN, they seem to have chosen to texture everything in brown, a-la quake. Everything seems to have a 3 tone look, and all 3 colours are brown, more brown and brown-type-brown.

Then again, I have only seen a little bit of the game, but it's my biggest gripe about the NWN engine bioware games, and so far I have little hope. I think I prefer wow's character style then realism, if that means more then one armor tone.

If you don't like brown you would hate D&D Online.

There's already a patch out!

Quote:
Updates to Dragon Age - Origins have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The major changes include:

Dragon Age - Origins

•Fixed potential corruption of character statistics

•Fixed portrait appearance sliders when importing a character from the downloadable Character Creator

•Fixed import for preset face settings from the downloadable Character Creator

•Made Easy difficulty easier

•Slightly increased attack, defense, and damage scores for all party members at Normal difficulty

•Fixed video issues when running on a very wide screen display, including ATI Eyefinity displays

lol. Looks like it was too difficult for some people.

Thats one of ths things hated most about WoW ... the stylised armor models that looks like a rainbow has taken a dump and then spewed another rainbow on the armour.

But you played druids whose armour themes were usually pretty good ... the shammie ones were usually technocolour yawns

Trace has played more, and is surprised by the depth of the story.

She hasn't gotten very far, cause she obsesses and has to see which character is best, so has gotten to the big battle on three seperate characters Richard Dean Anderson lol

She thinks the graphics are pretty, and that people who tried two different dwarves shouldn't be surprised that an underground city is brown ya rly.

Played a bit more, decided I like the Mage best (the one that joins you is funny but not the best spell choices).

Loving the dialogue, the scenery, the story is interesting. One or two issues with the combat - I miss tab targeting.

Still overall awesome. - try this game!

How is it playing on a console instead of a PC? (I assume you're on a console?)

I was bemoaning to Jase last night that I was more of a PC games person, and that it seems that the industry is going towards console games more these days, and it's also more awkward for me to get a gaming PC than a console at the moment :(
